Every summer, my dad would take my siblings and I on a “Greatest Adventure,” a two week long journey into the unknown. We would pack our bags and set off for different parts of the country in search of new experiences and memories that we could keep with us for life. We would decide on an overall destination, but it never mattered if we got there, it mattered how we got there.

 

My dad had a few simple rules for us: stay safe, have fun, and support one another. Every day was different because he allowed each of us to choose our own adventure. If we saw something along the way that was of interest, we would stop and do it. We went on treks through lush forests, went horseback riding though canyons, explored ancient ruins and tasted food from all over. He taught us how to live in the moment, be patient, and take risks.

 

Our "Greatest Adventures" opened up a world of possibility to us and reminded us that each day could be filled with adventure if you just looked for it. At each fork in the road, he let us choose which way to go - he was showing us how to make our own choices as well as reinforcing his philosophy that life is an adventure and that it should be embraced with courage and enthusiasm. He showed us that every experience, no matter how small, can be a chance for growth and discovery.

 

All of these elements brought me to found The Greatest Adventure in honor of the lessons and love my dad gave to us. "The Greatest Adventure" is more than just a name; it's a mindset. It's about living life to the fullest, embracing new challenges, and finding joy in the journey. Join me on this journey of continuing to explore new passions, seek out new adventures, and live life with enthusiasm and courage.
