It was the first morning of a 3 week road trip around Iceland. We woke up and found this gorgeous Icelandic horse in the field next to our campground. It was such a special treat to have this horse and its friends welcome us.The Icelandic horse is held in high esteem by Icelanders--and if you ever have the honor of meeting a member of its species, you'll immediately understand why. The Icelandic horse has an incredible spirit, and is known for its unique appearance and intelligence.
